Our groundbreaking research on Asian American and Pacific Islander voters in California, conducted with Lake Research Partners for the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, highlights an opportunity to engage an often overlooked portion of the electorate – one that holds a diverse set of political views on education, healthcare, and the environment.
Our findings point to the increasing importance of AAPI voters as part of the larger electorate, providing insight into their attitudes towards voting in general and on ballot initiatives in particular. AAPI voters in California are eager to become more engaged in politics, and ballot measures provide access that allows voters to make their voices heard as individuals and as a community.
Our results point to a path that might facilitate efforts to engage this critical element of the electorate like never before. This data will prove vital as the share of Asian American voters in California, and across the country, continues to grow. Read more at ballot.org.
