Margie Omero is a principal at the Democratic polling firm GBAO and has over 20 years of experience providing strategic advice using qualitative and quantitative research. Her clients have included some of the world’s biggest brands, hundreds of Democratic candidates for office, and non-profit and advocacy groups. Her clients have included the AFL-CIO, The Center for American Progress, Third Way, Groundwork Collaborative, DNC, DCCC, EMILY’s List, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, Everytown for Gun Safety, Brady PAC, and Kansas Governor Laura Kelly.
Omero’s work has taken on some of the country’s most challenging public opinion questions, such as race, abortion rights, immigration, climate change, guns, aid in dying, the Kavanaugh hearings, and the Special Counsel investigation. Omero also helps lead the Navigator Research team—a regular investigation into public opinion of the country’s top issues—such as the coronavirus, the economy, and policing.
A frequent writer, commentator, and speaker, Margie has appeared on ABC’s “This Week,” NPR’s “Morning Edition,” MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” and in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and USA Today. Omero was the creator and co-host of The Pollsters podcast, covering the polls driving news in politics, tech, entertainment and pop culture. She has been named one of “50 Politicos to Watch” by Politico.
Omero graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with High Honors and Special Honors in the University honors program, writing her honors thesis using longitudinal survey data. She is professionally and academically trained in statistics and sampling and has led over a thousand qualitative sessions and focus groups. She lives in Takoma Park, Maryland.
