A poll of New Hampshire voters conducted for End Citizens United by Gerstein Bocian Agne Strategies shows Maggie Hassan with a 47 to 44 percent lead over Senator Kelly Ayotte in the race for U.S. Senate, with Brian Chabot taking 7 percent. In a two-way race, Hassan maintains a 49-47 lead.
Hillary Clinton has a 43 to 37 percent lead over Donald Trump, with Gary Johnson holding 11 percent and Jill Stein 4 percent. In a head-to-head race, Clinton leads Trump 46–40.
Voters are becoming aware of Senator Ayotte’s connections to corporate special interests, a pivotal issue which End Citizens United has highlighted in the campaign. 40 percent of voters describe Ayotte as “too close to corporate special interests,” compared to only 25 percent for Maggie Hassan. Among unaffiliated voters, Hassan’s advantage on this issue grows to 18 points over Ayotte (41-23).
The survey, which was conducted from September 25-27, included 600 likely voters with a margin of error of 4 percent. Respondents were reached on land lines and cell phones.
